Kiwanis Flag Program

As we are about to enter 2010, the Holly Lake Ranch Kiwanis Club is taking this opportunity to let the community know what we are all about.

Mission Statement: Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

A Kiwanis commitment is built on the desire and willingness to serve your community.  It is renewed because of the gratification you will find in serving others.

Our Sponsored Youth Programs are special to our Club.  We are very fortunate to have three terrific teachers leading these programs: Bob Behnke (Hawkins HS Key Club), Gerry Myers (Harmony HS Key Club), and Tommie Meador (Harmony JH Builders Club).

Kiwanis is the place for you if you:

July

Judy Seaton from Murchinson, Texas is quite a story.  The farm she and her family run is a safe place to be an animal or a human. It is a peaceful place where temporary residents are taught new skills and given spiritual uplifting to help them put their lives back together.  In this temporary shelter, each individual is mentored by the group in residence.  Their needs are assessed and they are gently guided back into the world.

Beginning with an idea, Judy’s uniquely woven creations go from sheep shearing, cleaning the wool, to the spinning the yarn, and finally to the loom. Also the farm produces 100% natural goat milk soap, lotion and cheese from the on-the-farm goats.

Judy had a very fascinating story and if running the farm is not enough, she and her family bought “Lone Star Waffle Company” from the Simonetta’s.

To volunteer your time or resources to this ongoing work, contact Judy at 903-216-4400 or aspinnerstale@aol.com.
